The Realignment of the N3 from Key Ridge to Hammarsdale Sterkspruit East Valley Viaduct
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Mowana Engineers assisted BVi Consulting Engineers to design two incrementally launched (ILM) bridges, with total lengths of 365.5 m each. The bridge decks are exceptionally wide at 22,3 m. The ILM bridges consist of post-tensioned concrete hollow box girders with propped cantilevers. Pier heights vary between 20 m and 30 m.
